Hellbent for Cooking: the Heavy Metal Cookbook: 101 Basic Recipes by Metal Bands from 32 Countries
Just the other day, Exclaim’s Aggressive Tendencies section was sitting around pining over the fact that all of these other musical genres have some great cookbooks but here we are stuck with a big, fat zilch. So, you can imagine our surprise when hearing that Annick “the Morbid Chef” Giroux has created Hellbent for Cooking: The Heavy Metal Cookbook. Slated for release on November 24 by Bazillion Points, the full-colour, 224-page affair compiles dishes for a vast array of diets and boasts some great metal names sharing their secrets. Over a hundred bands are included, among them the likes of Autopsy, Possessed, Death, Repulsion, Slaughter, Obituary, Thin Lizzy, Mayhem, Anthrax, Kreator, Sepultura, Destruction, Accept, Gwar, Doro, Toxic Holocaust, Saint Vitus, Amebix, Uriah Heep, Budgie… the list goes on. Recipes include such delicacies as Mummified Jalapeño Bacon Bombs, Mushroom Steak à la Jack Daniel’s, Incinerator Chicken Wings, Viking Testicle (we don’t want to know either) and the super-metal Strawberry Jello Pretzel Salad Cake. While those names are cool, personally, we were hoping they’d come up with something a bit closer to the names of the bands contributing, not just their favourite recipes. Then it would be along the lines of what Metal Hammer did with their Metal Menu a while back. Our offerings: Morbid Angelotti Dei-cidar Caffeine of Bodom Satyricon-carne Krisiun-ion Rings Borknagar-nishes Carcass-paragus Salad Hopefully one day all of this will come out on video. Maybe these guys could host it:

Those Were the Days - Wanda Jackson

Once upon a time there was a tavern where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours
And think of all the great things we would do
Then the busy years went rushing by us we lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I’d see you in the tavern we’d smile at one another and we’d say
Those were the days my friend we thought they’d never end
We’d sing and dance forever and a day
We’d live the life we chose we’d fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way
La la la la la lay those were the days oh yes those were the days

Just tonight I stood before the tavern nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass I saw a strange reflection oh was that lonely woman really me
Through the door there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh my friend we’re older but no wiser for in our hearts the dreams are still the same
Those were the days…

Those where the days indeed…..

Saw this movie today. It wasn’t the best film Ive seen, but entertaining^^
But why do I watch this kind of movies? I’m a Male Carpenter! I should be seeing Crank or a Steven Segal film…. maybe I’m twisted in some sort of way. I just saw Law abiding citizen, an I have to say, I liked Gerard Butler better in The Ugly Truth!

I survived the lecture:D So now I’m a certified carpenter instructor^^

And after that Hellish car drive that I tried to sleep in the back, Even took 4 pills.. but no deal. Here`s just a slide show to end the trip.

The show with Louis C. K was awesome!! It’s 8,5 hours until I have to be at an lecture. We are leaving Oslo in this behemoth with hopefully me sleeping in the back. Leaving behind my car… Good night.
